Job Description
A friendly nursery in Horsforth is seeking a Deputy Room Leader for their toddler room to cover maternity leave. You’ll help lead a small team, support daily routines and learning activities, and ensure a safe, nurturing atmosphere for children aged 1–3 years. This is a fixed-term position for maternity cover, working 40 hours per week over just 4 days—giving you a better work-life balance.

* Level 3 or Level 2 childcare qualification
* Experience working with toddlers and supporting room leadership
* Ability to lead and motivate team members
* Good communication and organisational skills
Enhanced DBS check (on the update service or willing to obtain)

Requirements
Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (e.g., NNEB, CACHE Diploma, BTEC, NVQ 3, or equivalent). Experience working in a nursery or early years setting is desirable. Strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to keep accurate records and write reports. Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting positive behaviour. Physically able to lift and handle children and equipment. Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
