Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established, Main Contractor on a permanent basis. The company is multi-faceted and works within Social Housing, as well as the Public Sector, with projects including the refurbishment of schools and hospitals. The company has a healthy pipeline of work and receives regular repeat business from clients due to the high standard of service they provide. They focus on delivering excellent customer service and quality work.
They also work across a number of established frameworks. They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join them, based in their office in Walsall, covering sites across the Midlands region, with project values ranging from £500k to £5m. Reporting to the Commercial Director, your duties will include:
1. Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts for designated projects.
2. Prepare and submit monthly payment applications to the Client/Client's representative.
3. Prepare monthly valuation reports for the Management team.
4. Submit invoices for certified value and ensure payments are received on time.
5. Value and authorise payments to subcontractors.
6. Liaise with Contract Managers to establish project specifications and requirements.
7. Communicate with Contractors, Suppliers, and the Client to establish project details.
8. Attend and contribute to meetings with colleagues and clients when necessary.
9. Monitor contract progress, assess, and report any changes affecting costs or timelines.
10. Assist in controlling individual contract budgets.
11. Ensure all contract documentation and reports are accurate and timely.
The ideal candidate will have a stable and progressive career as a Quantity Surveyor, with experience in refurbishment projects within Social Housing or the Commercial/Public Sector. Experience with a schedule of rates for some projects would be advantageous.
The salary is up to £55k, depending on experience, plus car allowance and a package including pension, bonus, and private medical care.
