We are recruiting Project Support Officers to work in the Environment Agency’s Flood and Coastal Risk Management directorate. You will be an important part of teams managing innovative engagement projects, including developing new training and tools to engage communities and evaluate impact.
You will work with project managers and subject matter experts across several projects, drawing on a diverse range of transferable skills. The role is varied and requires:
* Coordinate and track actions and risks
* Support the project’s financial management
* Draft highlight/summary reports
* Manage and update project documents
* Manage shared mailboxes and SharePoint sites
* Provide secretariat support to project meetings
Responding to incidents is also part of the role. You will be required to have an incident role and be available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity during an incident. This may attract additional payment and full training, and alternative working arrangements will be available to enable you in your incident role.
We work in the Flood and Coastal Risk Management Strategic Engagement team, alongside dedicated engagement professionals, and collaborate with project managers and subject matter experts across the business.
Experience / Skills Required
We are looking for motivated individuals who are organised, pro‑active, willing to learn and have good attention to detail. The successful candidate will have good engagement, communication and influencing skills.
* Experience operating in a project, programme or portfolio management environment.
* Strong numeracy and data management skills.
* A high level of digital literacy – ability to use the full suite of Microsoft products, and the capability to learn new project and portfolio management tools.
