Contract: Full-time | Initial 3–6 months with potential for extension
A local authority in North East London is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join their Adult Social Care team. The service promotes independence, resilience and wellbeing, supporting adults to achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. As a Senior OT, you will lead on complex assessments, provide supervision to colleagues, and support the development of high-quality, strengths-based practice across the team.
Main Duties:
1. Undertake and oversee complex Occupational Therapy assessments, including reablement and Care Act assessments
2. Lead on discharge planning, equipment provision, and complex adaptations
3. Provide professional supervision, guidance and support to OTs, unregistered staff and students
4. Carry out moving and handling risk assessments and ensure safe, effective practice
5. Contribute to safeguarding investigations, multi-agency planning, and risk management
6. Manage a caseload of complex cases, ensuring statutory requirements and service priorities are met
7. Promote service development and best practice within Adult Social Care
8. Support training, CPD activities and peer learning within the OT team
Requirements:
9. Diploma/BSc in Occupational Therapy
10. HCPC Registration
11. Minimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience in Adult Social Care or Community OT
12. Proven ability to manage complex cases and discharge planning
13. Experience supervising or mentoring colleagues/students
14. Strong knowledge of moving and handling and complex adaptations
15. Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can assist)
16. Eligibility to work in the UK
17. Driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable
