Overview
We are looking for an individual who wishes to develop their prosecution experience or transition from criminal defence work to become an accomplished prosecutor. LSL acts on behalf of the County and six District Councils within Lincolnshire. The Education, Employment & Prosecutions Team is seeking to appoint a Senior Lawyer to lead our prosecutions team. The areas of law covered are extensive and include non‑school attendance cases; animal welfare matters; counterfeit and unsafe goods; and food safety and environmental crimes.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the prosecutions team, managing and remodelling positive behaviours among lawyers and legal officers.
* Manage a caseload of multiple cases, ensuring timely case management and adherence to deadlines.
* Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates Court, demonstrating a confident level of advocacy skills.
* Provide high‑level organisational, time‑management and case‑management skills to balance multiple concurrent cases.
Qualifications
* Qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive.
* Minimum three years’ experience in prosecution / criminal law.
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
* Confidence in advocacy within the Magistrates Court.
Hybrid Working
Hybrid working will be a significant feature of this role. You will be given a nominated contractual work base and are required to commute to this base when necessary. After the probationary period you will be required to attend the office one day per week, with an initial minimum of three days per week for the first six months. You will have access to a comprehensive technology platform enabling remote collaboration.
