A prominent consumer goods company is launching a significant capital transformation programme and seeks a high-impact Procurement Manager to lead this initiative.
This role is newly created and strategically important, responsible for all Capex procurement activities across multiple UK manufacturing sites. It offers a unique opportunity to shape sourcing strategies for complex, high-value projects, including equipment, civil works, and support services. You will work closely with stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to senior leadership, to enhance procurement capability, deliver commercial value, and ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities: Lead sourcing and procurement for capital projects: machinery, engineering services, civil works
Manage end-to-end project delivery across UK sites
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with capital investment goals
Support procurement process improvements, governance, and controls
Create tools, frameworks, and supplier strategies to optimize spend
Build relationships across engineering, operations, finance, and leadership
Promote cross-functional collaboration and influence decision-making
Key Requirements: Extensive capital procurement experience in FMCG, food, drink, or pharma sectors
Proven track record in CAPEX sourcing for equipment, civil works, and technical services
Experience with MRO procurement is a plus
Ability to work independently and adapt to change
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
Organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple workstreams
Aspiring to grow into a procurement leadership role
Interview Process: Stage 1: Functional & Technical Interview – focus on procurement skills, transformation experience, and CAPEX delivery
Stage 2: Presentation and Cultural Fit – presentation to leadership, discussion of leadership style, collaboration, and future goals
