Offer description

BTIS is a leading provider of statutory inspection services, delivering high-quality solutions to clients across various industries.

Importance of Reporting and Data in Statutory Inspection under UK Law

In the UK, statutory inspections are legally required assessments of equipment, workplaces, and safety-critical systems to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Effective reporting and data management play a crucial role in meeting these legal obligations, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring workplace safety.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Database Developer to enhance and expand our existing database system.

About the Role

We are seeking a Database Developer to support and develop our Microsoft Access database. While the core system is already built, the role involves:

* Enhancing and optimising the existing database.
* Developing new modules to support business operations.
* Creating and maintaining BI (Business Intelligence) and MI (Management Information) dashboards to improve data visibility and decision-making.

This is a hands-on development role, ideal for someone with strong Access, SQL, API development, and BI skills who thrives on building solutions that improve efficiency and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, optimise, and maintain the existing Microsoft Access database.
* Design and build new modules to enhance system functionality.
* Improve database performance, automation, and scalability.
* Develop and maintain BI & MI solutions for enhanced reporting and analytics.
* Create interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools.
* Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with best practices.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
* Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into database solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

* Strong experience in Microsoft Access database development.
* Proficiency in SQL – writing queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
* Experience with BI & MI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
* Ability to design and build new database modules.
* Understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and database administration.
* Experience in dashboard development and management reporting.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* VBA for Access experience.
* Knowledge of Excel (Power Query, Macros, Pivot Tables).
* Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions.

What We Offer

* Opportunity to work on a growing system with new development projects.
* Supportive and collaborative work environment.

If you’re a Database Developer with experience in Access, SQL, API development, and BI tools, and you enjoy both optimising existing systems and developing new modules, we’d love to hear from you!

Apply now to join BTIS and contribute to our ongoing success. Please note there is no relocation offered for this position.
