We are looking to recruit a committed, patient focused Specialist Therapeutic Radiographer who wants to specialise in CT.
We are part of a Radiotherapy Operational Delivery Network collaborating with the Christie NHS FT and The Clatterbridge Centre NHS FT to provide high quality radiotherapy across the North West of England.
We have two Phillips BORE CT scanners, pinnacle planning system, networked by a MOSAIQ patient management system. We have Surface Guided Radiotherapy Equipment installed on both CT scanner and are fully rolled out to majority of techniques. We employ a wide range of techniques including IGRT, IMRT, VMAT, SRS/T and SABR.
We will be entering a CT replacement process followed by the introduction of new planning software over the next 12/24 months and these would be exciting projects to be involved in.
Main duties of the job
You will rotate through pre-treatment allowing you to practice in all aspects including localisation, planning, data prep, however the majority of your time will be in CT. As an experienced radiographer you will have the opportunity to develop others by becoming a student mentor, preceptor for newly qualified staff and/ or supporting more junior staff.
The Radiotherapy department has successfully integrated role extension into its culture and has implemented Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Consultant Practitioner roles in Therapeutic Radiography. Additional to this there is a strong research ethic with opportunities for active involvement in research at all levels.
You will work flexibly to deliver an excellent service in all Radiotherapy work areas, ensuring efficient throughput of workload and delivery of high standards of technical and patient care whist acting as a role model and patient advocate

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Duties to include but not be limited to:
1. Responsible for the safe, accurate and efficient scanning/planning and associated activities, ensuring a high standard of patient care, information and support while respecting the privacy and dignity of all patients under their care.
2. To organise activities in the work area ensuring safe, efficient throughput of workload and delivery of high standards of technical and patient care.
3. To provide leadership in a work area, driving development and implementation of evidence-based practice, acting as a role model and patient advocate.
4. To provide clinical supervision and advice for other staff and students to support them in reaching their full potential.
5. To support the productive operation of the radiotherapy department by undertaking a range of activities which contribute to the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.

Person specification
Qualifications and Education
Essential criteria
6. BSc. / PGDip Therapeutic Radiography or DCR(T).
7. UK HCPC Registration as a Therapeutic Radiographer.
8. Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable criteria
9. Evidence of post graduate work based learning and/or academic study.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
10. Evidence of post-registration clinical practice in Therapeutic Radiography, including successful completion of preceptorship.
11. Sound knowledge of Radiotherapy pre-treatment, treatment planning and treatment delivery equipment and systems.
12. Evidence of service development/audit.
Desirable criteria
13. Awareness of current Health Service Issues affecting Radiotherapy.
14. Experience with Elekta linear accelerators, Pinnacle TPS and MOSAIQ Patient Management system.
15. Evidence of supervising/coaching Band 5 Radiographers.
