You will be given the opportunity to work within a delivery environment, supporting on Estimating activities for projects/programmes. It will also enable you to collaborate with likeminded individuals to help solve complex problems within the nuclear and infrastructure space. As part of the programme, you will be provided with the necessary tools, experience, and training to help develop your skills within project, programme and portfolio management (P3M). You will receive best in class training within project management, planning and controls, Primavera (planning/scheduling tool) and Excel. Courses will also cover soft skills such as negotiation presentation, emotional intelligence and conflict resolution. The training is centred around scenario-based learning, where you will be involved in practical application workshops. The role The Estimating team is responsible for calculating how much it will cost to provide the client with products or work. The estimators will be involved during the tender process when submitting a bid and through the lifecycle of the project to estimate the cost of change. The estimator will compile estimates, in line with best practice, by assessing the materials, labour and equipment that will be required including the capture of costs for subcontracts, services and materials that are obtained from subcontractors and suppliers by the supply chain team. The Estimating team produce estimates based on various information sources including bills of quantities, schedules, drawings, specifications and other tender documents provided by the client. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Deliver estimates using the most appropriate estimating methodology as directed Work in accordance with the estimating plan Deliver estimate in line with the estimating structure [e.g., Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)] Adjust future estimates and norms based on project LFE and feedback as directed Development of base line bottom-up and top-down estimates to meet project control / forecasting / finance requirements. Production of independent cost and schedule estimates in support of programme, inclusive of the analysis of data, utilising various estimating methodologies, tools and techniques and writing of reports. Produce estimates using appropriate estimating techniques. Selection of appropriate estimating approach and methods, documenting and maintaining the basis of estimate (BoE) Personal functional development through Awareness-Practitioner-Expert progression Assess and manage risk and opportunity and support negotiations as part of the pricing process. Review scope and tender documents and develop and collate submission requirements in a timely way, ensuring all financial information is identified and provided so accurate compliant proposals are submitted. Produce "what if" scenarios as required Ensure compliance with internal processes and Project Control guidelines Share lessons learned with other Estimators. Participate in training seeking to continuously update skills and knowledge Performing adjustments to systems and processes to align with industry best practice.
