We are looking for caring, dedicated individuals to join our team as Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Teaching Assistants in primary schools across Cornwall. This is more than a job – it is an opportunity to change lives every single day.
Your Role in the Classroom:
* Be the trusted, consistent adult a child can rely on for encouragement and understanding.
* Provide one-to-one and small group support, helping children with additional learning needs engage, learn, and succeed.
* Adapt lessons and activities so each child can take part, progress, and grow in confidence.
* Support children with communication, sensory, emotional, and behavioural needs, celebrating every milestone they reach.
* Work closely with teachers and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator to give each pupil the personalised support they deserve.
What We Are Looking For:
* Someone who is patient, empathetic, and genuinely cares about children’s progress and happiness.
* Experience of supporting children with additional needs such as autism, attention difficulties, or speech and language challenges is an advantage – but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred.
* A valid enhanced criminal record check (or the willingness to apply for one).
