Job overview

Are you a hard-working, experienced clinician, looking for a new challenge?

Do you want to develop your leadership skills?

We are looking to recruit for a part-time Deputy Clinical Team Manager to join the Oxfordshire CAMHS Getting Help Team. The team has bases in Banbury, Oxford and Abingdon and this post is countywide for Oxfordshire. We are undergoing CAMHS transformation work, combining Getting Help (GH) and MHST to form a comprehensive CAMHS early intervention service in Oxfordshire.

You could be an RMN, Social Worker, OT, Clinical Psychologist, Family Therapist or Psychotherapist; you would be supporting the Clinical Team Manager by undertaking clinical and operational duties to ensure that we continue to deliver a high-quality service.

In 2017 the Government proposal for transforming children and young people’s mental health aimed to expand access to mental health care for children & young people by setting up new Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) to be based in schools & colleges. The GH Team and MHSTs are managed through the CAMHS service to provide ‘getting help’ as identified within the iThrive model of CAMHS. Developing MHSTs is a key part of Oxford Health’s Long-Term Plan for Children & Young People. If you’re a hardworking team player and a keen problem solver, this is the role for you. We’re looking for someone who has a keen interest in service development, to build on and improve outcomes for our children and young people.

Main duties of the job

* Support the Getting Help Clinical Team Manager in the delivery of assessment and intervention for the GH caseload.
* Work alongside the Clinical Team Manager in the management and further development of the CAMHS GH/MHST working to an agreed model, developing clinical structures, recruiting staff and implementing the service.
* Deputize for the Clinical Team Manager when required.
* Provide a safe, effective and therapeutic clinical team ensuring the delivery of assessment and intervention for young people and families waiting for assessment / intervention.
* Contribute to the development of community mental health service provision across the wider service in conjunction with other team leaders and managers.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of a robust performance management system for the team.
* Be responsible for the line management, case supervision and appraisal of team colleagues.
* Take a key role in ensuring effective joint working with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure responsive and appropriate service delivery to users and carers.
* Be part of a duty rota during working hours, which currently covers Getting Help and Getting More Help Teams, providing urgent support and advice to young people, families and professionals for the GH/GMH teams.
