About the Role

Are you a dedicated nurse looking to elevate your career in a dynamic and supportive environment? Join the esteemed clinical team within the nursing departments of a large hospital in West Yorkshire, where your skills and passion for patient care will truly shine.

Schedule and Working Hours

* Full‑time: 40‑hour work week with a fixed rota of 35 hours over four days (Monday to Friday) and no out‑of‑hours shifts.
* Full‑time: one out of every four weekends worked.
* Part‑time: two days per week plus one out of every four weekends.

Career Development

This role is ideal for newly qualified RVNs seeking their first hospital position. Whether you specialise in surgical/anaesthetic support or inpatient care, you will receive a structured and supportive environment to advance your nursing career.

You will work alongside experienced RVNs and certificate holders, gaining exposure to advanced clinical skills such as management of feeding tubes, wound and drain care, complex medical cases, anaesthesia monitoring, and schedule 3 surgical skills. Rotations through different areas of the hospital—from wards to theatre—will build your confidence across all aspects of nursing.

Mentorship and CPD opportunities are plentiful, with encouragement to pursue further qualifications when you are ready. The team culture is welcoming and supportive, where learning is celebrated and questions are always encouraged.

Workplace Overview

Our 24‑hour RCVS‑Accredited Hospital and Emergency Service Centre, established in 2012, provides out‑of‑hours and referral‑level support to 19 referring surgeries alongside a thriving first‑opinion service, exposing you to a wide variety of cases from routine care to complex referral patients.

The hospital has 70 colleagues, including vets and nurses with postgraduate certificates across ECC, Small Animal Surgery, Medicine, Dentistry, and Anaesthesia. As a nurse‑led hospital, RVNs are central to inpatient, anaesthesia, and surgical care, fostering a culture of teamwork, teaching, and continuous improvement.
