Description Our Opportunity We are seeking an Estimator to join our Commercial team. This role plays a key part in securing and shaping our future projects by preparing accurate, competitive and well-structured tenders across subdivision, bulk earthworks and civil infrastructure works. The position works closely with the Commercial Manager and Project Teams to ensure submissions are commercially sound, compliant and aligned with our operational capability. It requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines. The diverse role includes, but is not limited to: • Reviewing and assessing tender documentation for completeness and accuracy • Performing quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications • Preparing first principles estimates and cost breakdowns • Sourcing competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors • Preparing and submitting tenders within required timeframes • Attending site inspections and tender meetings as required • Supporting project handovers to construction teams • Analysing risks and identifying opportunities within tender submissions • Maintaining accurate tender registers and documentation in line with company systems Skills And Experiences About You We are seeking a commercially minded and detail-focused individual who understands civil construction and the tendering process. You will bring strong analytical capability, a proactive mindset and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business. You will demonstrate the following competencies: • Degree in Civil Engineering or working towards completion • Exposure to estimating within a civil construction environment • Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies • Ability to prepare estimates using first principles • High level of competency in Excel and spreadsheet analysis • Ability to build relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines • Understanding of WHS, environmental and quality requirements in civil construction • Current Driver’s Licence and White Card Why JK’s?
