Job Purpose To provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential, supported living, or community setting. The role involves promoting their safety, wellbeing, emotional development, independence, and personal growth in accordance with safeguarding policies and UK care standards. Key Responsibilities * Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and emotional support to children and young people. * Promote a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. * Assist children with daily routines including personal care, meals, education, and recreational activities. * Support children in developing life skills, confidence, and independence. * Build positive, trusting relationships with children and act as a positive role model. * Implement and follow individual care plans and risk assessments. * Support children who may have experienced trauma, neglect, abuse, or challenging behaviours. * Work in partnership with families, social workers, schools, and other professionals. * Accurately record daily logs, incident reports, and progress notes. * Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision. * Adhere strictly to safeguarding, health & safety, and company policies. * Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times. Safeguarding Responsibilities * Ensure the safety and protection of children at all times. * Report any safeguarding concerns immediately in line with safeguarding procedures. * Understand and comply with UK safeguarding legislation and guidelines. Essential Requirements * Experience working with children or young people (residential, school, care, or support setting preferred). * Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. * Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally. * Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). * Right to work in the UK
