We have two positions available within the Waste Proactive Performance team. It is key that you are a person with a passion for Customer care and Operational Excellence. Using your love of analytics and understanding of complex data sets, you’ll present your findings and recommendations, delivering effective programmes and solutions supporting both the proactive team and the broader business.
Proactive Waste Networks is an exciting area of the business that has undergone large-scale transformation. Combining your knowledge with large datasets provides a great opportunity to drive continuous improvement of our KPIs and Outcome Delivery Incentives (ODIs) across the network.
You’ll be valued as a trusted expert, adding value to our data. Working with innovative ideas and hypotheses, you will drive actionable insights, empowering the business to make informed decisions and improve performance.
Working with the Data & Analytics team, you'll create compelling narratives and visualisations for your projects. You’ll collaborate with technical experts across Operations and the wider business, utilising advanced data interrogation, extraction, and manipulation skills to support deep-dive analyses. This role offers opportunities to work with key stakeholders and showcase your talents within a dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Owning and driving performance improvements aligned with external performance commitments and internal targets.
* Identifying new processes and investment opportunities to impact and deliver on commitments and targets.
* Developing opportunities to secure buy-in, funding, or approval, and implementing solutions where applicable.
* Creating new reports, monitoring progress, and tracking delivery of improvement initiatives across Waste Networks, escalating issues promptly for optimal outcomes.
* Tracking tangible benefits of improvement initiatives and their impact on performance, escalating decisions when benefits are off track.
* Providing insightful analysis of performance data, translating data into practical applications and influencing business decisions.
* Identifying trends, opportunities, and risks to performance, and working with teams to develop improvement plans.
* Collaborating with strategic and tactical planning teams to drive performance and influence multiyear planning.
* Applying technical knowledge to build credibility, focus priorities, and manage expectations.
Qualifications and experience:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and transformation.
* Experience with large datasets and platforms like SAP, Salesforce, or similar.
* GIS experience with ESRI ArcGIS or ArcMap (preferred).
What you’ll bring:
* Curiosity, motivation, and action-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
* Experience analyzing complex data to extract key insights for performance improvement.
* Proficiency in POWER BI and Excel for reporting on complex datasets.
* Experience with Microsoft Access or other databases, including query and report creation.
* Ability to translate complex data into insights and improvement opportunities.
* Experience presenting to diverse audiences and influencing teams.
* Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
* Attention to detail and understanding of broader processes and data relationships.
* Knowledge of waste processes and operational environments is beneficial.
