We are currently seeking to employ a Medical Secretary to work Monday and Friday for the Urology Department at Whipps Cross Hospital. The department currently has six substantive consultants, two locum consultants and one associate specialist. You will be joining a team to provide high quality administrative support to the clinical team.
Candidates must have excellent communication and secretarial skills, which will include word processing and audio typing. Digital typing skills are desirable. Knowledge of G2 would be an advantage. Knowledge of medical terminology and previous experience as a medical secretary are essential.
Although this position is a 12 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 12 months.

To work in close co-operation with all staff and other professionals to ensure a quality service.
To be an active and supportive member of the department’s administrative and clerical team.

Essential criteria
1. Good general education: GSCE in Maths/English
2. Typing 60 WPM minimum
