The opportunity
As the Mortgage and Protection Proposition Consultant, you will support the management of the Openwork and Owl M&P Propositions function, to ensure products and services offered to clients are developed and managed effectively, aligned to corporate strategy and high standards of governance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Operational management and delivery of key areas of the M&P Proposition to provide control and oversight of proposition development, management and promotion.
9. Work with the M&P Proposition Managers to manage the relationships with product providers and lenders.
10. Ensuring there is a suitable relationship governance framework in place to monitor and evaluate the performance of the providers / lenders.
11. Bring forward new development ideas and other opportunities with providers that will enhance the M&P Proposition and drive great outcomes for advisers and their clients.
12. Undertake due diligence on initial appointment of new provider / lenders and on an ongoing basis.
13. Work with the product governance team to undertake proposition reviews for M&P products, owning the actions and seeing them through the appropriate governance committees.
14. Maintain proposition documentation (panel rationale, provider profiles, review logs, contracts) and contribute to procedure and control improvements to support audit readiness.
15. Act as a point of contact for adviser proposition queries and feedback; identify themes and ensure improvements are prioritised and delivered.
16. Undertake research activity across the M&P industry – products, competitors, consumers and our own data to inform proposition development.
17. Ensuring M&P proposition content on adviser and colleague portals / Teams channels is up to date and accessible
18. Managing the regular provider webinar programme to support adviser knowledge and education
19. Ownership of MI including distribution of this to relevant parties
20. Coordinate and track proposition change activity (e.g., provider/product changes, new tools/content releases), ensuring appropriate review, communication and evidence of sign-off
What will you need to succeed?
QUALIFICATIONS
21. Experience in Mortgage & Protection within a regulated financial services environment, preferably in an advisory capacity or in a role supporting advisers and their clients
22. Experience of engaging with mortgage and protection providers, with understanding of processes, systems and expectations from their distributors
23. Strong analytical capability with experience producing MI and insight packs, using data to identify trends and opportunities.
24. Experience creating impactful communications collateral for advisers and / or clients
25. Qualifications: Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent) desirable; commitment to maintain CPD and complete mandatory regulatory training.
KNOWLEDGE
26. Strong overall knowledge of the financial services industry The Mortgage and Protection advice process The types of products offered by Openwork / Owl and the financial advice market advisers operate in Lender / provider systems and processes The regulatory environment including MCOBs, ICOBS, Consumer Duty
27. Strong data literacy: ability to interpret and challenge MI, define measures and spot trends/anomalies to inform action
28. Experience and sound knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

32. Confident facilitator, able to run meetings, workshops and provider reviews and capture clear actions/decisions
33. Resilient and adaptable, comfortable working with ambiguity and responding quickly to emerging risks/issues
34. Willingness to travel to meet providers / lenders / advisers
