Our Estates & Facilities team is central to this mission-ensuring that every patient, visitor, and colleague experiences a safe, welcoming, and high-performing environment. We work in close partnership with NHS providers, local authorities, and community organisations to deliver joined-up care that meets the needs of our population., As Associate Director Facilities Services, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of all soft FM services, including housekeeping, catering and retail services, portering, switchboard services, travel & transport, and waste management and associated sustainability. The role also has lead responsibility for space management and allocation. You will be a key leader working with clinical and operational colleagues across the Trust and partner organisations driving and delivering service excellence, improvement, efficiencies and system-wide collaboration across the full range of these services and functions.,

* Develop and deliver a forward-thinking FM strategy aligned with our Trust's clinical priorities, sustainability goals and digital transformation agenda.
* Foster strong partnerships with other Trust clinical and operational services, other NHS organisations, local authorities, and social care providers with regard to opportunities for shared service models, shared space and efficiencies.
* In line with our Estates and Facilities What Matters programme - Champion EDIE across all FM services, embedding inclusive practices, equitable access, and a culture of belonging.
* Prioritise staff health, well-being, and development, ensuring your teams feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow.
* Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary workforce to deliver high-quality, 'customer' focused services.
* Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, health & safety, Waste legislation, Food standards & National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness and infection prevention standards.
* Manage complex contracts, staffing models/rotas and budgets with a focus on value, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with clinical and corporate leaders to enhance patient flow and outcomes, and patient, visitor and staff experience.
We're looking for a strategic, collaborative, and values-driven leader who brings both operational excellence and experience and a people-first mindset., The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

* Senior leadership experience in facilities or operational/general management, ideally in healthcare or similarly complex environments.
* A strong track record of delivering strategic change, efficiencies and service transformation.
* Experience working across organisational boundaries and building effective partnerships.
* A deep understanding of compliance, risk management, and performance frameworks.
* A commitment to EDIE and a passion for developing staff and creating inclusive, supportive workplaces.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, Master's degree or equivalent training and experience in the field of Facilities and/or General Management
* Extensive, knowledge of healthcare services and/or Estates and Facilities Management services
Desirable criteria
* Project Management qualifications or relevant experience.
* Evidence of other additional specialist management training to post-graduate level in Facilities or General Management., Essential criteria
* Experience of working at a senior management/leadership level in a complex environment (
* Experience of driving and implementing complex and significant service improvement using proven methodology Project management experience
Desirable criteria
* Working with multiple NHS and other partner organisations e.g. various Trusts, NHSE, ICS, local authorities, universities and the private sector etc.
* Evidence of the ability to involve teams in analysis of situation and solution development; persuade teams to take on new ways of working and to constructively challenge the status quo, Successful record of delivery at an operational and management level in a complex environment
* Ability to communicate complex information and administrative items to a large/diverse range of people. Able to author thoughtful, articulate and well-presented reports and briefing papers. Demonstrating interpretation and presentation of complex, sensitive or contentious information in an objective manner across a variety of internal & external stakeholder groups.
