OCL Solicitors is a rapidly expanding law firm dealing largely in Road Traffic Accident Litigation and are looking to recruit trainee solicitors to develop and progress in our business. We have over 100 staff and operate from our premises in Doncaster.
The firm undertakes a variety of work for both Claimants and Defendants ranging from low value personal injury claims to multi million pound claims in our dedicated large loss teams. In addition, we undertake credit hire/repairs litigation again ranging from small claims to multi track.
As a Trainee Solicitor, you will undertake a structured training contract, gaining hands-on experience across various legal departments. You will work closely with experienced solicitors, contribute to casework, and develop the skills required to qualify as a solicitor.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist solicitors with legal research, drafting documents, and case preparation.
* Attend client meetings, court hearings, and other legal proceedings.
* Manage correspondence and maintain accurate case files.
* Prepare legal documents including witness statements, and pleadings.
* Participate in departmental rotations.
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and regulations.
Requirements
* Completed or currently undertaking the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or SQE preparation.
* Strong academic background.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to a career in law and professional development.
Desirable Skills
* Previous legal work experience or paralegal role.
* Familiarity with case management systems and legal databases.

Hours: 37.5 hours a week, core hours being Monday- Friday 09:00 – 17:30.
Training will be provided in our Doncaster office with the potential of moving to a hybrid work from home rota.
