The role:
As a Development Chemist you will help drive our goals by:
Working as part of a cross functional team including, Commercial, Supply Chain, Scientists, Operators, Quality, NPI, delivering products linked to business strategy and roadmaps
Provide support to production groups as necessary to troubleshoot issues and to aid in meeting production/customer commitments
Focus on continuous improvement, such as process optimisation to improve yields, efficiencies and process safety
Innovative thinking to develop new products for key strategic markets to support JMs growth and competitiveness
Carry out laboratory experiments and collect/analyse data to understand reaction chemistry and optimize critical reaction parameters
Participate in driving projects through the NPI process to ensure robust scale-up and internal governance is adhered to
Update procedures for existing processes and write procedures for new processes.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
BSc in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or similar required
Experience in a chemical industrial environment required
Precious metal industry experience highly preferred
Must be able to understand basic chemistry principles
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
Must have good communication skills, including written, verbal and the ability to successfully conduct technical presentations
