My client is seeking an experienced and motivatedProduction Supervisorto lead their busy production team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a smaller company setting where flexibility, initiative, and problem-solving skills are essential.
As the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising production operatives, ensuring smooth day-to-day workflow, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This position requires a proactive leader who can train, motivate, and manage a team to consistently meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Organise and supervise production staff to maintain a steady workflow and achieve production targets.
* Communicate expectations clearly and provide coaching, feedback, and support to team members.
* Train and develop staff, offering opportunities for skill growth and progression.
* Maintain production schedules, ensuring work is completed on time.
* Monitor and evaluate production processes, implementing cost-saving strategies where appropriate.
* Oversee quality control checks and ensure all documentation is accurate and signed off.
* Identify and resolve production issues quickly and effectively.
* Maintain equipment condition by reporting repair needs promptly.
* Uphold health & safety standards and ensure a clean, safe working environment.
* Manage performance reviews and appraisals for production operatives.
* Work collaboratively with other departments to support business needs.
* Analyse production records and report key metrics to management.
About You:
* Proven experience supervising a production team in a food manufacturing environment (essential).
* Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
* Broad knowledge of production planning processes and quality control procedures.
* Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
* Comfortable being hands-on and directly involved in production activities.
* Able to manage shift workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of machine operation and basic troubleshooting.
Other information:
* 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6.30am - 3pm
* Salary Circa £32,000
