We are looking for a Positive Behaviour Support Senior to join us to support the delivery of high quality, person‑centred support to improve the quality of life of adults with learning disabilities. You will be a key part of the multi‑disciplinary team within services and will also be part of our Therapeutic Services team, comprising of Applied Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy.
This role is based at our Meadow View site. Travel to our other sites may be required in this role. This is a full time role (part time will be considered).
Main duties of the job
* Enthusiasm for engaging autistic individuals and people with intellectual disabilities in planning their own futures
* Experience in working with autistic individuals and people with intellectual disabilities
* Experience in collaborative approaches to working with behaviours of concern and reducing restrictive practices
* MSc in PBS/ABA or equivalent, with an in‑depth understanding of the principles and application of PBS
* Experience of carrying out behavioural and skills assessment and interventions, and in implementing PBS in MDT settings
* Experience in coaching, training and supporting staff

Job Title: Positive Behaviour Support Senior
Service: Central Services
Responsible to: Consultant Clinical Psychologist / Applied Psychology Lead
As a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Senior you will take a compassionate approach to working with people, committed to understanding people’s needs and using evidence‑based practice to help people flourish.
Working within the PBS framework, you will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to understand people’s needs holistically. You may work in a range of settings including residential, educational and vocational. You will work alongside colleagues to ensure that services have the knowledge and skills to deliver high quality support environments. Working together with the people we support, their support staff, families and other key people you will help people to identify and achieve their goals. You will work autonomously to carry out specialist assessment and intervention, coaching and motivating others to bring about meaningful change. As a PBS Senior you will have the opportunity to support with service‑wide PBS initiatives and will supervise the work of others implementing interventions.
Key Result areas
1. Clinical – to conduct descriptive functional behavioural assessment and communicate this to others in an accessible format.
2. Develop and implement multi‑component holistic behavioural interventions.
3. Communicate effectively with other professionals in the multi‑disciplinary team and attend multi‑disciplinary meetings and reviews.
4. Produce professional reports.
5. Be involved, as appropriate, in pre‑admission assessments and transition planning.
6. Provide specialist advice, direct coaching and consultation to support staff, families and professionals.
7. Manage highly complex information and sensitive situations related to behaviours of concern.
8. Communicate information to others in a skilled and sensitive manner.
9. Monitor progress through data collection.
10. Training and supervision – participate in regular professional supervision and appraisal.
11. Maintain active engagement with current developments in Positive Behaviour Support and related legislation, guidance and initiatives.
12. Maintain knowledge of restrictive practice reduction and continue professional development.
13. Provide clinical supervision for staff implementing PBS interventions or completing PBS training.
14. Provide line management supervision for Assistant Applied Psychologists.
15. Research and service evaluation – implement evidence‑based practice and undertake research activities.
16. Contribute to service/organisation wide initiatives and evaluation.
Information technology
* Use information technology systems to facilitate communication with multiple key people.
* Conduct data entry and analysis using Excel.
* Use Word for the recording of all information related to assessment and intervention, including clinical case notes and report writing.
* Use PowerPoint for the development and delivery of training activities.
Other requirements
* Maintain professional registration with the appropriate governing body, if applicable.

Qualifications
* BCBA/UK‑BCBA or UK Behaviour Analyst registration (or equivalent).
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Training in clinical supervision.
* Registered with UK Society of Behaviour Analysis (UK‑SBA) or equivalent.
Experience
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with key people.
* Advanced skills in collecting and analysing complex data and communicating findings.
* Advanced skills in functional behavioural assessment and designing holistic PBS interventions.
* Experience leading by example, coaching and mentoring others.
* Experience in PBS‑informed service delivery and working within a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Experience in developing and delivering PBS training to groups.
