Hollyns Health & Wellbeing are looking to recruit a salaried GP to provide cover for 4 sessions per week working Monday and Tuesday. The fixed term contract will be for 5 months, iIdeally we would like this to start in April. Interviews for the position will be held week commencing 23rd March.
Main duties of the job
1. CONSULTATIONS
Consulting by telephone, video, at the surgery and at home dependent on clinical situation(we currently operate a total triage model)
Information gathering, making appropriate diagnostic formulation and management strategies incorporating the patients own opinions and belief systems
Make comprehensive and understandable records in the form agreed upon by the partners
Respond appropriately to emergencies which arise at the surgery or at home with necessary involvement of other agencies
Show responsiveness to other doctors working with you at any given time with regards to the sharing of workload
2. ADMINISTRATION
Results and letters are to be viewed in relation to patients full computer record with appropriate comment and follow-up arrangements made.
Prescription signing/trouble-shooting remains the responsibility of all Doctors
Prompt attendance at all meetings
Referrals should be sent for typing within 1 working week. This includes x-rays, scans and other investigations. Same day for urgent referrals

* Prolonged contact means that they will use repeated opportunities to gather information at a pace appropriate to each patient and build a relationship of trust which they can use professionally.
* They will practice in co-operation with other colleagues and know how and when to intervene through treatment, prevention and education to promote the health of their patients and their families.
* They will recognise that they also have a professional responsibility to the community.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
* Practice a high standard of patient-centred, preventative, clinical medicine using evidence based practice wherever possible
* Understand the significance of ‘time’ in General Practice
* Organise an efficient caring practice, being willing to learn and demonstrate management skills
* Evaluate regularly and audit his/her own performance
* Maintain interest in continuing medical education and develop a pattern of lifelong learning
* Be aware of cost-effectiveness in relation to investigation and treatment to maximise the available resources for patients
* Develop a solid understanding of medical ethics and be willing to integrate these within the practice culture

* Understand and show responsibility to the Primary Health Care Team
