Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic applicant(s) for an FTC Specialist Doctor post (up to 10 PAs) in Integrated Sexual Health commencing as soon as possible to work alongside a dynamic team of sexual health professionals at Maidstone Hospital.
We are looking for support in augmenting our services; help developing the clinical leadership of the service and support developments for our diverse local population. We are looking for an applicant who wants to develop innovative ways to provide sexual health care and collaborate with our experienced and flexible team.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of GUM and HIV patients and support nurse led clinics.
* Provide safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults attending the service, with support from a Safeguarding lead nurse and the Trust Safeguarding team.
* Attend and contribute to relevant clinical and management meetings, including a monthly team meeting and Clinical Ops meeting; time is allocated within the job plan for these and can be adjusted as responsibilities change.
* Support the training of sexual health staff, medical students and other professionals interested in sexual health.
* Provide direct clinical care across the 8 PAs (of a 10 PA job plan), with each PA consisting of 4-hour sessions; include face-to-face and telephone consultations (30–45 minutes per session, depending on clinic type). DCC administrative time is included to allow for patient-related admin and to provide clinical support for nursing staff who run clinics alongside doctors.

Additional Information
The successful applicant will be expected to work 8 PAs (of a 10 PA job plan) of Direct Clinical Care, with sessions including 4 hours each. The role involves supporting training, safeguarding, and involvement in clinical and management meetings. The Trust describes its service coverage across Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury and notes its large staff base and patient catchment area.
