Do you have a knack for making language come alive? A welcoming secondary school in Bristol is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to help students, who do not speak English as their first language, grow their confidence and find their voice in the classroom.
What you’ll be doing:
* Work 1:1 and in small groups with students who speak English as an additional language.
* Break down barriers to learning, boost understanding, and help students access the full curriculum.
* Be the friendly bridge between teachers and students – spotting where a bit of extra explanation or encouragement makes all the difference.
* Celebrate every milestone – from a new word learned to a full sentence spoken with pride!
About you:
* You’ve got experience supporting EAL or ESOL learners (in schools, colleges, or community settings).
* You’re patient, adaptable, and can switch gears to meet different language levels and learning styles.
* You believe in making every student feel seen and supported – whatever their first language is.
* Bonus points if you speak another language too – but being kind, clear and creative with English is what really counts.
