In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring that BioMar’s manufacturing operations run efficiently, safely, and sustainably. You will be involved in both short-term problem-solving and long-term projects that shape our future operations. During your first year, you will gain valuable hands-on experience through placements and secondments across different parts of the business, learning from experts and building your knowledge of aquaculture feed production.
Key tasks include:
1. Supporting and improving manufacturing processes to ensure high quality and efficiency
2. Monitoring performance data to identify and solve process issues
3. Documenting and sharing best practices across operations teams
4. Contributing to continuous improvement projects that drive innovation
5. Ensuring health and safety standards are met at all times
Your path to success in this role
We are looking for a graduate who is eager to learn, proactive in solving problems, and motivated by the opportunity to shape the future of aquaculture. To succeed in this role, you need both strong technical foundations and the ability to collaborate with teams across the business.
Must-have requirements:
6. Degree in Chemical or Industrial Engineering at 2:1 level or above (or a similar discipline)
7. Strong knowledge of manufacturing environments and lean principles
8. Excellent data analysis skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
9. Right to work in the UK, a valid passport, and willingness to travel when required
10. Driver’s license and access to transport
Nice-to-have experience:
11. Knowledge of aquaculture or food production industries
12. Familiarity with MES, PLC, or SCADA systems
13. Six Sigma Yellow Belt or similar continuous improvement training
14. Additional languages such as Spanish are desirable but not essential
Salary: £30k
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
These hours will be variable depending on the requirements of the role. Flexible Hours include:
15. Start time between 8 am – 10 am
16. Core hours: 9am – 4pm
17. Finishing time: between 4 pm – 6 pm
The role will require a 3–6-month internal secondment to gain experience in the Manufacturing environment as part of your development. This is flexible but will incorporate shift work in one of our Manufacturing shift teams whilst working with Production management on your development.
There may be a requirement for occasional out-of-hours or weekend working to meet business needs
