Job Description:
I have a FANTASTIC opportunity for a qualified Children's Support Worker to join a STUNNING residential children's home in Pembroke Dock as a Senior Children's Support Worker. You'll be supporting young people between the ages of 8-18 years old with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.
We are looking for a knowledgeable, committed, and motivated individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.

Responsibilities of the Senior Children's Residential Support Worker:
* Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
* Mentor and support newer staff members
* Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives, depending on their age
* Maintain a homely, friendly environment in the homes
* Deal with challenging behaviours when needed
* Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
* Support children and young people in the home, promoting their independence and well-being
* Maintain a safe environment
* Ensure familiarity with individual care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and communication preferences
* Support challenging behaviour safely and sympathetically
* Develop and maintain good relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives
Requirements of the Senior Children's Support Worker:
* Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People is ESSENTIAL
* Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is ESSENTIAL
