Great development isn’t just about finding land.
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
It’s about spotting opportunity where others don’t.
Negotiating deals that unlock potential.
And delivering projects from first idea to final handover.
This Development Manager role brings all of that together — with one important difference.
The sites you’ll identify, acquire and shape won’t just add to a portfolio.
They’ll become specialist homes for people living with complex conditions or recovering from injury.
Places that offer safety, dignity and the chance to thrive.
For the right person, it’s the perfect mix: a chance to use your development expertise to build something commercially sound — and profoundly meaningful.
We’re looking for someone with a proven track record in property acquisition and end-to-end development delivery — from sourcing and appraising opportunities, to managing planning, due diligence and build programmes.
Someone who knows how to negotiate, how to build relationships with landowners, developers and brokers, and how to keep projects moving to time and budget.
You’ll be confident preparing business cases and development appraisals, with the commercial insight to make strong investment decisions. And you’ll be a natural collaborator — working closely with external consultants, contractors and internal teams to ensure every project not only stacks up financially, but delivers on its true purpose.
This is a role for a development professional who wants their career to add up to more than numbers on a spreadsheet.
A chance to take your skills and see the impact they can have on people’s lives
