Within our Training Systems business unit, we offer a range of products from Full Flight Simulators to Virtual Flight Decks, with tailor-made pilot training solutions for airlines and training centres. We provide aftercare services to support customers through the lifecycle of their devices.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller within the Finance team, supporting the Training Systems business unit. You will lead the accounting team in the UK, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong financial controls, and support strategic decision-making across the organisation. You will work closely with Finance Business Partners and other Finance functions to support Product Line Leaders and the business unit leadership team.

What The Role Will Involve
* Oversee the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements and variance analysis
* Maintain and implement strong internal controls and policies, including support to the payroll function
* Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and manage all tax and VAT submissions
* Liaise with external auditors and lead statutory reporting
* Manage Opex budgeting and forecasting to support the financial planning process
* Provide Cash Flow reporting and forecasting
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5, ensuring high performance and professional growth
* Support business improvement initiatives and cost-efficiency strategies
* Enable and support internal Product Line reporting, ensuring ERP process optimisation
* Ad hoc reporting
What You’ll Bring
Essential
* Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
* Qualified Accountant (ACA)
* Experience within a large blue-chip organisation
* Strong Excel and analytical skills
Desirable
* SAP S/4 HANA
* Strong leadership and team development experience (minimum 3 years)
* Experience working in an engineering or manufacturing business
* Experience dealing with UK statutory accounting and external audit
* Exposure to working in a Sarbanes-Oxley control environment
* Resilient, working in a fast-moving PE-backed environment
* Gravitas to challenge the status quo and implement change
* Strong communicator within Finance as well as with senior management
* Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative
* Innovative, focused on continuous improvement and lean
* Ambitious, to create a best-in-class finance department
