HGV Driver (Class 1 Nights)
Are you a newly qualified CE Driver looking to take the first step in your HGV career? This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience while working as part of the night team for a well-established logistics company.
Our client is keen to support new passes in building confidence behind the wheel, developing practical skills, and establishing a long-term career within a reputable transport operation. This role is ideal for a CE Night Driver or C&E Driver looking for straightforward, consistent trunking work.
Pay: £18.19 per hour
Hours: 18:00 – 06:00
Shifts: Monday to Friday (NO weekends)
Location: Robertsbridge, East Sussex
Contract: Temporary / Temp to Perm
The Role:
As a CE Driver, you will play a key role in the night operation, completing a trunking run involving 1 drop and swap per shift. Working as a Class 1 Driver within the night team, this role offers a simple and structured workload, making it perfect for newly qualified drivers looking to gain real-world experience.
This position provides a supportive environment where you can build confidence and develop your skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Operating as a HGV 1 Driver completing trunking work (1 drop / swap)
Conducting safe and efficient runs between depots
Ensuring timely deliveries and collections
Completing vehicle checks and reporting defects
Working closely with the transport team to support smooth night operations
Adhering to all driving, working time, and safety regulations
Requirements:
Valid Class 1 (C&E) licence
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Good awareness of health & safety standards
