Overview
 A leading provider of high-quality fire and security system installation, maintenance, and support services is seeking an experienced Service Operations Manager to lead and develop its service and maintenance operations.
This role is pivotal in driving departmental performance, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction, and maintaining operational excellence across a growing portfolio of commercial and residential clients.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with the Contract Management Team to ensure seamless service delivery and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
 Operational Leadership
Oversee daily operations of the Fire & Security Service Department, including scheduling, engineer coordination, and reactive callouts.
Manage and support a team of service engineers, ensuring work is completed efficiently, on time, and to the required standards.
Ensure all planned maintenance visits are completed within contract deadlines and SLAs.
Coordinate with the Contract Management Team to align maintenance schedules with project delivery and remedial works.
Optimise engineer diaries to balance reactive and preventative work, maximising weekly productivity.
Proactively identify opportunities to fill scheduling gaps with additional maintenance or small works.
Reporting and Performance Monitoring
Prepare and present weekly reports to the Managing Director.
Analyse performance data to identify trends and implement improvement plans.
Support the achievement of monthly revenue and KPI targets.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of service paperwork and system updates.
Team Management and Development
Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and support to engineers and support staff.
Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs, and support professional development.
Promote adherence to health & safety procedures and risk management practices.
Foster a positive, accountable, and performance-driven team culture.

Proven experience managing service or maintenance operations within the fire and security industry.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent organisational and scheduling abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Confident working under pressure and making operational decisions.
Competent in using job management and reporting systems.
Full UK driving licence. 
 Desirable Qualifications
FIA or equivalent fire alarm training.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical or electronic engineering.
Experience managing BAFE accredited service operations.
