Job Opportunity: Band 7 Macmillan Cancer Health and Wellbeing Manager at BHRUT
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Macmillan Cancer Health and Wellbeing Manager (formerly known as Macmillan cancer information and support manager) at BHRUT. The position is currently full-time, covering Monday to Friday, and will be an integral part of the Personalised Cancer Care Team. Slightly reduced hours will be considered. BHRUT is a large teaching Trust located in Northeast London. Our Vision is to provide outstanding healthcare to our community, delivered with pride. The oncology department at BHRUT serves a population of approximately 750,000. The Personalised Cancer Care team is a multidisciplinary team providing personalized care and support for patients living with a cancer diagnosis from diagnosis through the patient’s pathway. The team has been nationally recognized for their innovation.
Main duties of the job:
1. Develop and manage the Macmillan health and wellbeing service.
2. Support the delivery of personalized cancer care Trust-wide, collaborating with the Personalised Cancer Care programme lead, focusing on Holistic Needs Assessments offered by PCC Support workers, and developing health and wellbeing events.
3. Deliver and lead a range of health and wellbeing sessions and information in various formats – written, virtual, 1:1, and group.
4. Manage and develop the Macmillan Cancer information service.
5. Oversee the quality of cancer information produced in-house by the oncology and haematology teams Trust-wide.
6. Line manage the complementary therapy team and benefits advisor.

Cancer services are mainly located at Queen’s Hospital in Romford, an accessible location with excellent transport links to London and countryside. The hospital is a 15-minute walk from Romford train station, with frequent bus services. Romford offers a balanced mix of urban and rural environments, with quality schools and onsite parking available.

* Experience working with people affected by cancer for at least 5 years
* Staff management skills
* Previous experience with Macmillan
* Experience delivering health and wellbeing sessions or workshops
* Knowledge of business case writing
