Role : Fitness Manager – Ladies Gym Department : Fitness Division : Society Sport Center Reporting To: Operations Director Direct Reports : Fitness Coaches Role Purpose The Fitness Manager is responsible for the overall performance, profitability, and quality of the Fitness function, encompassing Personal Training, Group Exercise, and Gym Floor activity. Reporting to the Operations Director, the role ensures fitness services are commercially successful, operationally efficient, and delivered to a consistently high standard, while developing a high-performing team of Fitness Coaches. The Fitness Manager acts as the strategic and commercial owner of the Fitness department, translating business objectives into clear departmental KPIs, performance standards, and development plans that drive member engagement, retention, and revenue growth. Key Responsibilities Fitness Department Performance & Profitability Own the end-to-end performance and net profitability of the Fitness & PT department. Set and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and margin targets. Balance revenue growth with payroll efficiency, utilisation, and service quality. Actively manage profit drivers including PT penetration, utilisation, pricing, and staffing models. Personal Training – Revenue, Penetration & Delivery Lead the commercial performance of Personal Training. Ensure strong conversion from assessments to PT clients and repeat purchases. Drive PT revenue, packages sold, sessions delivered and PT utilisation. Ensure Personal Training is delivered consistently and to brand standards. Oversee resolution of PT-related member feedback and complaints. Group Exercise Strategy & Performance Develop and manage a commercially viable Group Exercise programme. Ensure classes are staffed by qualified instructors and delivered to standards. Monitor GEX penetration, occupancy and class ratings versus budget. Optimise timetables, formats, and instructor deployment. Team Leadership & People Development Lead, coach, and develop Fitness Coaches. Set clear goals and KPIs aligned to the Trainer Commission Structure. Ensure effective rotas and staffing aligned to demand. Identify and develop future talent through structured progression pathways. Foster a high-performance, accountable team culture. Compliance, Standards & Operational Discipline Ensure all fitness areas are safe, clean, and compliant with brand and H&S standards. Ensure adherence to SOPs, policies, and operational processes. Maintain high standards of professionalism and service delivery. Work closely with Operations and Facilities to resolve issues promptly. Member Experience & Engagement Champion a member-centric fitness experience. Ensure effective onboarding including assessments and results reviews. Monitor fitness-related feedback and act on trends. Oversee the planning, implementation and execution of member/guest experience related fitness events. Performance Management, KPIs & Reporting Own and report on Fitness KPIs including PT, GEX, engagement, and profitability. Analyse performance data and implement corrective action plans. Provide structured reporting to the Operations Director. What Success Looks Like (KPIs) Fitness Department meets or exceeds net profit targets. Strong PT penetration and utilisation. High-quality Group Exercise delivery with strong occupancy and ratings. Consistent performance across Coaches and Supervisors. High standards of compliance, safety, and service. Positive member feedback and strong retention. Experience & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science, Business, or Management preferred. Recognised Personal Training qualification (Level 3 or equivalent). Minimum 8 years’ experience in a fitness environment. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience leading a Fitness department or large team. Proven experience managing profit-based performance models. GCC / Qatar experience preferred. Arabic language skills advantageous.
