Software Engineer - Azure Application Development (Full Stack)
We’re looking for a proactive and technically strong Software Engineer to join our Client Technology team at Aberdeen, focusing on the Azure-based application layer that powers our web-based solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building and maintaining cloud-integrated applications, solving complex problems, and working across modern Microsoft technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain backend services and application components hosted in Microsoft Azure.
* Work across Azure services such as Resource Groups, Networking, Data Factory, and Key Vault to support application functionality.
* Write clean, maintainable code in C#, with supporting scripts in SQL and PowerShell.
* Collaborate with frontend developers and product teams to integrate APIs and backend logic.
* Ensure applications are secure, scalable, and compliant with internal and external standards.
* Troubleshoot issues across the application stack and contribute to performance improvements.
* Support CI/CD workflows and automation using Azure DevOps, with a developer-first mindset.
* Passion for learning and exploration of new technologies.
* Collaborative approach and ability to mentor junior engineers.
Must-Have Skills
* Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including: Storage Account, Networking, App Services, Key Vault, Azure security - Managed Identities, Scripting - Azure CLI.
* Proficiency in C#, SQL, and PowerShell.
* APIs - OpenAPI and OAuth, GraphQL.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to development.
* Solid understanding of security, compliance, and agile delivery.
* Passion for learning and exploration of new technologies.
* Collaborative approach and ability to mentor junior engineers.
Nice-to-Have
* Exposure to Snowflake or DBT.
* Experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
* Familiarity with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
