Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Engineer to join our team at Heartwell Renewables. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical support and optimizing the facility's processes to ensure maximum safety, efficiency, and productivity.
Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support to plant operations and maintenance teams.
* Lead the design and implementation of new and/or modified processes and equipment.
* Ensure all production and operating processes operate safely and in compliance with regulatory/organizational safety and environmental standards.
* Analyze and evaluate the facility's processes to identify areas for improvement.
* Develop and implement process optimization strategies to increase efficiency and productivity.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve process-related issues.
* Monitor and analyze process data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
* Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
* Respond to calls for direction and troubleshooting of complex continuous operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Coordinate with regional leads and subject matter experts to update regulations and policies for compliance.
* Manage and promote continuous improvement of environmental health and safety management systems.
* Based on experience, potential to move into a technical leadership role.
* Willing to travel up to 25% for work-related activities.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related field.
* Experience in renewable or bio-diesel production, steam reformation, oil and gas industry, hydro treating, or a PSM regulated facility.
* Legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
* Minimum of 5 years full-time experience in process optimization in a chemical or petrochemical facility.
* Valid driver’s license.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and in a team.
* Knowledge of process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
* Willing to relocate to Hastings, NE, and work onsite.
* Comfortable working in industrial environments with potential hazards requiring PPE.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Experience providing operational leadership in audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
* Familiarity with renewable diesel production is a plus.
* Monitor production outcomes, quantity, and quality to meet customer specifications.
* Oversee operations across multiple departments or shifts, ensuring safety and policy compliance.
