Red Snapper is recruiting Unpaid Work Supervisors across multiple locations on full-time or flexible part-time contracts in behalf of the Probation Service. You'll play a vital role supporting individuals on probation as they complete Community Payback - meaningful work that benefits local areas such as gardening, decorating, community clean-ups, and maintenance projects.
Who We're Looking For:
You do not need previous probation experience - full training is provided.
We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including:
✅ Security, construction, painting, decorating, landscaping, or gardening
✅ Teaching, coaching, or community leadership
✅ Public sector, police, or armed forces
✅ Charities, support work, homelessness or mental health services
✅ Any role involving leading or supervising groups of people

Supervise and motivate a group of up to 10 people

Then this could be the perfect role for you.Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise groups (typically up to 10 service users, mostly male) completing unpaid work projects in the community.
Conduct daily 'toolbox talks' to explain tasks, safety procedures, and expectations.
Carry out Pre-Placement Inductions and motivate participants throughout the day.
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Conduct dynamic risk assessments and maintain safe working practices.
Complete all relevant paperwork and record attendance, incidents, and progress.
Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and successful completion of community orders.
Ensure tools, materials, and equipment are used safely and correctly.
Represent the Probation Service professionally, upholding equality and inclusion.Hours and Flexibility:
4 days per week, approximately 9.5-hour days (latest finish 18:30)
Weekend availability is expected on a rota basis.
Part-time hours may be considered if candidates can work flexibly.Requirements:
✔ Full UK manual driving licence (essential) - automatic licence not accepted
✔ Ability to work outdoors and carry out manual handling tasks
✔ Confident supervising and engaging with groups
✔ Good communication, organisation, and leadership skills
✔ Basic IT and record-keeping ability
✔ Working Safely and Emergency First Aid certificates - training can be provided by the client
