I&C Cabling Engineer
We are looking for an experienced I&C Cabling Engineer to manage and supervise all aspects of Instrumentation & Control cabling and electrical design for the Hinkley Point C project.
Responsibilities
Ensure consistency, quality, and integration of cabling studies, electrical designs and supplier interfaces; support loop diagrams, I/O lists and cable routing/sizing; act as the technical point of contact for electrical and I&C interfaces; validate supplier data and support installation planning.
* Review and consolidate cabling and electrical design inputs from I&C Engineers (distributed control systems and loop diagrams), Suppliers (actuators, sensors, cable routing and conduits) and System Engineers (HVAC, fluid and electrical systems).
* Perform consistency checks, identify discrepancies and manage associated design changes.
* Produce and maintain I/O Lists and interface documentation for turnkey contracts.
* Design and validate cable routing, sizing and loop connections, ensuring compliance with nuclear and electrical safety standards.
* Track and monitor supplier feedback maturity, manage follow‑up on changes, interface issues and design updates.
* Liaise with installation teams to support accurate implementation of cabling and electrical designs on site.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
* Experience in I&C cabling and electrical design in industrial or nuclear environments.
* Electrical design in I&C.
* Knowledge of loop diagrams, I/O lists and control systems integration.
* Experience with cable routing, sizing and installation design.
* Ability to consolidate and review supplier studies, identify inconsistencies and resolve design issues.
* Familiarity with nuclear safety standards and regulated environments.
* Experience coordinating across multi‑disciplinary engineering and supplier teams.
Required Qualifications:
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience working on Nuclear Projects.
* Experience with turnkey contracts and supplier coordination.
* Knowledge of CAD or cable management software (AutoCAD, MicroStation or similar).
* Experience with installation planning and electrical interface verification.
