We are looking for a talented Senior Packaging Engineer to join our European team specializing in Logistics for our Corporate Segment in Daventry, United Kingdom.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
2. Drive effective packaging and container system designs by applying advanced engineering expertise across the full product lifecycle.
3. Partner crossfunctionally and with customers and suppliers to define clear, compliant requirements for expendable and returnable packaging solutions.
4. Identify and implement improvements that enhance packaging quality, reduce total cost, and minimize waste in alignment with business and sustainability goals.
5. Determine optimal returnable container fleet sizing through close coordination with logistics, inventory, and operations teams.
6. Develop sitespecific packaging requirements aligned with Cummins Global Packaging Standards, safety guidelines, storage constraints, and lineside presentation needs.
7. Ensure supplier compliance with packaging specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements for both inbound and outbound shipments.
8. Support Indirect Purchasing by providing technical guidance during packaging sourcing and procurement initiatives to deliver costeffective, compliant solutions.
9. Apply strong business acumen and continuous improvement practices to drive sound decisionmaking, costbased analyses, and consistent operational results.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
10. Industrial Packaging Design Design primary, secondary, and tertiary industrial packaging using engineering principles to ensure product protection across all endtoend supply chain touchpoints.
11. Packaging Material Knowledge Select optimal packaging materials by leveraging knowledge of material properties, performance characteristics, cost impacts, and environmental considerations.
12. Returnable Packaging Management Analyze financials, fleet sizing, tracking, maintenance, logistics, and performance data to develop returnable packaging programs that reduce cost, transportation impacts, and waste.
13. Problem Solving Apply structured, datadriven problemsolving methodologies to identify root causes, implement robust solutions, prevent recurrence, and mentor others in effective problemsolving practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
14. Bachelors degree in engineering or a related discipline is required; Packaging Engineering or Packaging Science is strongly preferred.
15. Significant experience in Packaging Engineering or a related field.
16. Proven track record of leading strategic initiatives and delivering measurable results.
17. Demonstrated packaging engineering experience within automotive or heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
18. Proven experience managing and developing teams of packaging or technical professionals.
