Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our secondary school on a contract basis. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons to KS3-KS4, fostering strong literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum
* Teach a range of English topics including literature, language, writing skills, and exam preparation
* Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
* Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school policies
* Prepare students for internal and external examinations
* Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications & Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field
* Teaching qualification/certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
* Previous experience teaching English at secondary level preferred
* Strong classroom management skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to motivate and inspire students
* Commitment to safeguarding and student well being
Desirable Skills
* Experience preparing students for standardised exams (e.g., GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level or equivalent)
* Familiarity with digital learning tools and educational technology
* Experience working in a multicultural or diverse school environment
