Sales Support Administrator (Full-time)
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: Up to £28,000 per year + discretionary bonus
Hours: Monday–Friday, full time
Start: ASAP (February ideal)
Type: Permanent, office-based
The opportunity
We are recruiting a Sales Support Administrator to join a busy and well-established internal sales team within a successful distribution business.
This role is ideal for someone at an early stage of their career who enjoys being organised, working at pace, and supporting a sales function — with the opportunity over time to gain exposure to the commercial and sales side of the business.
This is a permanent, office-based role offering stability, training, and genuine long-term progression for the right person.
The role
The position naturally develops in two phases.
Phase 1 – Core sales administration
Initially, you will take ownership of essential daily tasks that keep the sales office running smoothly. Once trained, these duties typically take 2–3 hours each morning.
Key responsibilities include:
* Processing sales orders and associated documentation
* Managing delivery paperwork, proof of delivery requests, credits and debits
* Maintaining accurate customer and pricing records
* Supporting order flow and ensuring daily workload is controlled
* Liaising with internal teams to resolve queries efficiently
Phase 2 – Sales support and commercial exposure
As confidence grows, the role broadens to include:
* Managing the internal sales inbox
* Sending samples and product literature
* Supporting the sales team with customer queries and follow-ups
* Assisting with reactive customer issues and complaints
* Providing wider sales support to help the team operate efficiently
Over time, there is genuine scope to become more involved in the sales and commercial side of the business, depending on performance, attitude, and interest.
Who this role would suit
This role would suit someone who:
* Is at an early stage of their career
* Has some exposure to office admin, sales support, recruitment, customer service, or internal sales
* Is organised, reliable, and comfortable handling routine tasks
* Communicates confidently with customers by phone and email
* Wants to learn, develop, and progress — not remain in a static admin role
This role is not suited to someone looking for a long-term admin-only position with no interest in progression.
What we’re looking for
* Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks
* Professional and confident communication style
* Comfortable using systems, email, and basic reporting tools
* Proactive, reliable, and willing to take responsibility
* Positive, team-focused mindset
SAP or CRM experience is useful but not essential — full training provided.
Salary & benefits
* Up to £28,000 base salary
* Discretionary bonus linked to performance
* Stable, well-established business
* Supportive team environment
* Clear opportunity to progress into a more sales-focused role over time
