As the VMU Lead Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the fleet maintenance department to meet all safety, legal, and operational requirements and standards. You will ensure your team is engaged, well-supervised, and performing to the highest standards against the VMU performance indicators. You will act as an advocate of the Gist objectives, values, and safety standards. This role reports directly to the VMU Service Manager (VSM) and you will be working with other key stakeholders, including Site LM, and Fleet Engineering Manager (FEM), to ensure seamless operations and alignment with business objectives. Diagnosing & repairing electrical and mechanical faults. Handling breakdowns & reactive maintenance, ensuring first-time fixes. Following manufacturer guidelines to keep our fleet roadworthy and efficient. Keeping accurate records of work completed. What We’re Looking For NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance. HGV experience in a fast-paced environment. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
