Job Description
Carrying out routine inspections and servicing of HGVs. Diagnosing faults using diagnostic equipment and manual checks. Carry out defect rectifications such as repairs on engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
Performing MOT preparations and compliance checks. Completing service records and maintenance reports accurately. Ensuring all work complies with health and safety and DVSA regulations.
Follow all company policies and support the technicians on your shift. Improve productivity and efficiency in the workshop.
Responding to roadside breakdowns and providing mobile support when required.
Responsibilities
Perform assembly and disassembly of vehicle components as needed.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, ensuring efficient operation.
Communicate with service team members in relation to defect repairs & service/maintenance queries.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used. Fill out all inspection documents to required standards and legislations.
Adhere to safety standards while handling heavy lifting and operating forklifts.
Utilise power tools for repairs and maintenance tasks on vehicles.
Report any issues to service manager.
Qualifications
Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
Valid UK driving licence; an HGV Class 1 or 2 licence is highly desirable
Knowledge of DVSA inspection standards and VOSA procedures
Previous workshop experience
