Children's Newly Qualified Social Workers
Join the Suffolk County Council team as a Newly Qualified Social Worker. This role supports children and young people in need and offers a comprehensive programme to develop your professional skills.
* Address: Various locations in Suffolk – hybrid working
* Salary: £34,434 per annum (rising to £37,280 per annum); pro‑rata for part‑time
* Joining payment: £1,500 + £4,000 retention payment following successful completion of the ASYE programme
* Hours: Full‑time or part‑time available
* Contract: Permanent
Job Description
You will work within the Children and Young People Services, supporting families and children through assessment, intervention and safeguarding processes. You will provide compassionate care, promote children’s rights and empower families to thrive, while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance.
Key Responsibilities
* Support children and young people in need, delivering casework and safeguarding interventions
* Conduct assessments using appropriate frameworks and ensure they are child‑centred and thorough
* Maintain accurate case records and uphold professional standards of practice
* Participate in regular supervision, training and development activities
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated support services
Qualifications
* Relevant social‑work qualification and registration with Social Work England
* Full and current driving licence with personal transport or meeting mobility requirements of the role
