Role:Systems Co-ordinator (Furniture and Floorcoverings)
Location: Kettering
Salary: Up to £25,000
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week - Monday to Friday
We have a vacancy for a Systems Co-ordinator who will be based in our clients Furniture and Floor Coverings business areas.
Our clients Furniture & Floor Coverings business areas are an international centre of excellence for testing, training, consultancy, and innovation. Their expertise makes them the premier technical partner for suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers of furniture, flooring, and their components.
They test against national, European, and international standards, as well as key retailer specifications, to give customers the confidence that their furniture and flooring products are fit for purpose and safe to use. The role will involve working within a UKAS-accredited ISO 17025 quality management system (QMS) in accordance with the companys health and safety requirements.
There is currently a vacancy for a Systems Co-ordinator to assist with maintaining and developing the QMS and health and safety systems within the Furniture and Floor Coverings business areas.
Responsibilities
As a Systems Co-ordinator, after receiving appropriate training, you will be required to carry out the following tasks:
Maintain and improve record keeping of quality-related documentation (e.g., calibration certificates, equipment maintenance records, certificates of conformity, standard reference materials, gap analysis, software validations, spreadsheet validations)
Perform calibrations, drift analysis, risk assessments, witnessed assessments, and uncertainty of measurement budgets to agreed deadlines
Manage check testing and inter-laboratory trial participation
Support the Business Area Managers with the annual UKAS audit; organise the auditors and take the lead on organising improvement action evidence
Co-ordinate ISO 17025 accreditation schedule extensions to scope where applicable
Assist with the creation of standard operating procedures
Work with the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, Head of Furniture, and Head of Floor Coverings to ensure H&S compliance with legal and company requirements
Maintain personal training and competency records
Purchase and verify standard materials
Complete COSHH records where applicable
About You
Successful candidates will be required to have the following:
Essential
Laboratory experience, or A-levels (or equivalent) in a science-based subject or Mathematics
High accuracy and excellent attention to detail
Highly motivated, reliable, and flexible approach to working, with the ability to respond to changing deadlines and priorities
Ability to accurately follow instructions and procedures
Ability to work independently in an organised manner
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Effective time management
Good computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Good teamworking skills
An understanding of the importance of working to a quality system
Problem-solving skills
Desirable
Experience in implementing and maintaining quality control/quality management systems such as ISO 17025 or ISO 9001
Knowledge or understanding of Health & Safety procedures
Ability to learn new skills quickly
