Fugro is seeking ambitious Graduate Engineers to join the Engineering and Consultancy team at our Oxfordshire head office. The Consulting team is responsible for analysing and interpreting geological, geotechnical, and geophysical data, as well as laboratory testing, enabling clients to make informed decisions during the engineering, design, and construction phases of infrastructure development projects.
This role supports the delivery of geotechnical and engineering projects across land and nearshore environments, including desktop studies, site investigations, and data integration and interpretation of subsurface conditions for safe and reliable design of major energy and infrastructure projects.
Your Role and Responsibilities
* Support the consultancy and engineering teams on challenging site characterisation projects
* Assist with the development and application of ground models
* Collect, analyse and report site investigation data
* Integrate and manage geotechnical and spatial data
* Carry out data assessment, including historical data analysis
* Produce maps and spatial outputs using GIS software and modelling tools
* Create, maintain and update project databases
* Support digitalisation and automation initiatives through ideas and coding
* Develop expertise in engineering geology and apply it to project development
* Build understanding of site investigations and data types
* Learn role‑specific tools, systems and processes
* Potential involvement with nearshore projects, including work around jack‑up rigs
What You’ll Need to Thrive in This Role
* A degree (or working towards one) in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline
* A strong interest in land and nearshore geotechnical engineering and risk management
* Willingness to work in both site‑based and office‑based environments
* Experience or interest in using technical software such as ArcGIS, ground investigation databases or geotechnical analysis tools
* Confidence working with data, including collecting, analysing and interpreting soil and rock information
* A practical, hands‑on approach with strong problem‑solving skills
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within project teams and with clients
* Attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality, safe work
* Curiosity about the natural environment and ground conditions
* Motivation to learn, ask questions and develop a long‑term career in geotechnical engineering
