As a Composite Structural Detailed Analysis Engineer at Airbus Operations Limited, you will be responsible for performing detailed stress analysis of composite structures, contributing to the design and optimization of advanced aerospace components for the next generation of Airbus aircraft.
Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed stress analysis of composite and metallic structures, using analytical tools such as FEM and ISAMI.
* Develop and validate analytical models for composite materials and structures.
* Interpret analysis results and provide recommendations for design improvements to ensure structural integrity and performance.
* Collaborate with design engineers, materials specialists, and other stakeholders to integrate analysis findings into the product development lifecycle.
* Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations to communicate analysis results and support design decisions.
* Stay abreast of the latest advancements in composite materials, analysis techniques, and industry standards.
* Participate in design reviews and provide expert opinions on structural aspects of composite components.
* Develop new technologies through the technology readiness level process (TRL).
* Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for complex structural challenges.
* Contribute to workload estimates and project plans and be a clear communicator within the wider structures team of technical challenges and progress to ensure seamless integration of your activities.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in detailed stress analysis of composite and metallic materials and structures.
* Strong understanding of composite and metallic material behavior, failure mechanisms, and manufacturing processes.
* Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) software (e.g., Abaqus, Nastran, Ansys).
* Demonstrated innovation and creativity in approaching complex engineering problems.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Additional Skills and Experience
* Good overall understanding of aerospace design and development processes based on requirements‑based engineering.
* Experience in defining and testing aerospace structures.
* Understanding of Airbus methods and tools.
* Experience in following aircraft structures design from concept through to certification.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to translate complex analysis themes into simple cross‑discipline inputs to ensure overall success.
* Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.
