The Opportunity
We are looking for a Cook/Chef with a passion for fresh, home‑cooked food to join our friendly team at Maes y Môr Extra Care Scheme in Aberystwyth. This role is perfect for someone with experience in care, extra care, or contract catering, using fresh ingredients, who enjoys producing nutritious meals in a calm, well‑organised kitchen.
This part‑time role offering 26.25 hours per week, worked across a rolling 2‑week pattern (3 shifts one week, 4 shifts the next), with alternate weekends off, and 4pm latest finish time – giving you genuine work‑life balance while still doing what you love.

The rate of pay for this role is £14.30 per hour.
What will you be doing?
As a Cook/Chef, you will:
1. Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious meals and desserts each day
2. Maintain a clean, hygienic, well‑organised kitchen
3. Support residents with dietary needs and preferences
4. Work alongside the Lead Cook/Chef and occasionally step in to lead the kitchen
5. Contribute to a warm, friendly environment centred on resident wellbeing
