The Cleaning and Temporary Stops Operative will carry out the cleaning and damage reporting of bus shelters and bus stop infrastructure within the counties of Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex. They will also deploy temporary bus stops as requested by local authorities in those areas.
This position is based out of the Thatcham office, with duties throughout the Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex areas.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week (start and finish times will vary weekly, depending on client requirements but normally will take place between 6am - 6pm, Monday to Friday). A vehicle and PPE will be provided.
Cleaning and Damage Reporting Duties
· Carry out cleaning and damage reporting on bus shelters and bus stop infrastructure in line
with SLAs (Service Level Agreements) for clients in Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
· Put out and remove temporary bus stops as requested by local authorities.
· Operate within safety and specified method statements and risk assessments.
· Managing the cleaning daily administration, recording and reporting via a phone-based app.
· Reporting updates and issues to the Thatcham Office.
· Maintaining the upkeep of the vehicle and equipment.
· Initiate weekly Checked Safe and mileage reporting via a phone-based app for your van,
in addition to daily observations.
· Ensuring the van has adequate supplies of cleaning materials and equipment.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Experience in commercial or outdoor cleaning (e.g., street cleaning, commercial premises, or public infrastructure)
* Ability to carry out minor repairs (basic maintenance skills are a plus)
* Basic IT or smartphone skills (for reporting damage and submitting reports)
* Good written and verbal communication skills (to document issues clearly)
Desirable:
* COSHH Training (for handling cleaning chemicals safely)
* Experience in grounds maintenance or facilities management
* Health & Safety awareness (e.g., risk assessments, manual handling, PPE use)
* Knowledge of public infrastructure maintenance (e.g., bus stops, street furniture, or transport assets)
* First Aid certification (useful but not essential)
