Are you a skilled and passionate Scrub Practitioner ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Scrub Team Leader to join our busy and expanding Sharoe Green Theatre Unit.
Main duties of the job
We seek a committed individual who has substantive Scrub experience, effective communication, interpersonal and organisational and management skills to help with the planning, preparation and training of staff for the theatres.
In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of one of our theatres and also be required to coordinate the elective and emergency service provision by working collaboratively with anaesthetists, clinicians, midwives and the ward in providing effective management of elective and emergency patients.
Sharoe Green theatres work on a 24/7 basis to cover Gynae and Obstetric emergencies therefore you must be a confident and strong leader who can provide support to junior staff out of hours as part of the unit’s out of hours rota and manage a varied and demanding workload providing clear direction to your team.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the department reporting directly to the Clinical Manager.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Assist and support the Clinical Manager in the safe and effective management of the service including management of staff, facilities and associated systems and processes.
Communicate all relevant information to the multidisciplinary team internally and with external organisations as required, to ensure seamless care.
Acts as a role model presenting a positive image of self, the team and the organisation.
Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, making optimal use of operating sessions. Identify potential bottlenecks and facilitate smooth patient flow through the department.
Set, monitor and maintain standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.
Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Person specification
Qualifications & Education
* Registered nurse / ODP with current NMC / HCPC registration
* Evidence of current and continuing professional development
* Mentorship qualification or willingness to work towards following 12 months commencement in post
* Extensive experience in Scrub
* Degree in related health care area
* Level 3 ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) or equivalent.
Knowledge & Experience
* Awareness of changes in practice and the ability to implement change.
* Knowledge of Clinical Governance and the relevance to practice.
* Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of escalation and cancellation processes.
* Knowledge of Leadership and Management.
* Research and Development.
