Summary

The Management Committee of Oswaldtwistle School are looking to recruit a highly experienced Family Support Worker who have the ability to inspire and motivate vulnerable young people who for some reason or another have struggled / are struggling to successfully engage with their Mainstream Education. It is essential that they can elicit the trust and confidence of staff, students and parents and that their educational philosophy and beliefs reflect those detailed in our Vision, Mission Statement and Ethos. Oswaldtwistle School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and takes its statutory duties and responsibilities in this context very seriously.

As such this post is subject to the conducting of on-line checks, an Enhanced DBS check and a fitness to work declaration. This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis.

Desirable Qualifications

* Professional / academic Level 3 qualification or equivalent or substantial experience in the relevant specialised/operational field
Working at national occupational standards (NOS) for learning, and knowledge / skills equivalent to current national qualifications in learning, development and support services for children, young people and those who care for them at Level 3

Essential Experience

Experience of or the ability to demonstrate the competence to work directly with individual children, young people and families to identify and assess their needs and make appropriate planned responses to improve outcomes.

Desirable Experience

Experience of working with a wide range of other professionals to develop and deliver shared initiatives for children, young people and families.
